My university room tour:

Hey you lovely bunch,

I'm aware that I have a few new readers that have joined since my last uni blog post. Welcome!! I hope you enjoy my posts and you can get something out of them!

On todays blog post, I am going to be talking all about my uni flat and I'll give you a lil tour of my room.

Overall living in student accommodation isn't all that bad, even if it was a little difficult when I first came here due to a few situations with the flat as a whole... someone flooded my room *insert angry emoji*

I mean it eventually settled down and I'm happy where I'm currently at. Living away from home is tricky due to being away from your family and not just that but you have this immense sense of loneliness because you can't go downstairs and sit with your mum and watch the soaps or have a general chit chat with her... you're in your flat on your own.

This to me meant that it was essential to make my room feel just like my room at home. I wanted to make sure that I felt cosy and comfortable and with the help from my parents I made my room look homely and just like me.

So first of all is my desk area...

This was an important space for me because I knew that is where I would spend most of my time studying and working. So I set out my desk in a methodical way. As you can see in the images I have an in and out tray at the left of the image, this rarely gets used if I'm honest but I think its good to put loose papers in there. Then I have all my folders in order where I store my work from lectures (if you haven't seen my organisation post yet click here) on the right hand side I have a little storage container which has notebooks and paper in there and basic things.

My boards:

On the one above my desk I have pictures of my family and friends all around it - I feel like this was important for me because when I sit at my desk I can look up and see all my favourite images and know they're only a phone call away. With the pictures comes inspirational quote cards which I got from paper chase and from Zoe Suggs calendar, I love these sooooo much! They really motivate me when I'm having an off day.

On this pin board are more motivational cards and also a big tapestry which I think makes my room come to life, also I have these cute lights at the top which just finish off the wall perfectly.

Next are the draws next to my desk, on top of these I have my record player which hasn't been played for a while... I'm waiting for the Greatest Showman record for Christmas lol. On top of this I have all my makeup which I wouldn't use all at once but I have a plastic organiser which makes it easy to pick out the makeup I want to use.

In the top drawer I just have odd bits, nothing special in this draw, I think I use this draw mainly to just put miscellaneous junk in there.

The next draw is my stationary draw, anybody who knows me knows I love stationary so much. I'm obsessed with buying new stationary, this obviously meant that I had to have a stationary draw at uni. Inside is paper, bluetac, pens and pencils, plastic wallets, you name it I've got it in that draw hahaha.

Lastly is the bottom draw which has my underwear in... so I won't be showing you inside there haha.

On the other side of the room I have my bed... this bedding is the best thing I have ever seen haha. I'm not a fan of the taste of avocados but the duvet is adorable. At home I have a double bed which is lovely but coming to uni I don't actually mind sizing down to a single.

Above my bed are two shelves, on here I have placed ornaments and more pictures and some fake flowers for added effect lol. Also I haven't yet changed the time on the clock to an hour ahead... I never look at it hahaha.

Then I have another shelf at the end of my bed... on here I store all my friends collection on dvd, sweets and more stationary and two more miscellaneous boxes lol.

Then comes the sink. I share bathrooms with my flatmates and I will never do it again. That's the one thing I have hated most about uni. I wanted to save money originally but now I just want to have my own bathroom and my own space... there has been too many discussions about who is replacing the toilet roll and I'm the only one who seems to know how to clean up *rolls eyes*

Lastly, is my wardrobe. I have quite a small wardrobe but its plenty of room to fit my clothes in, which since being at uni I've bought way too many clothes... I need to stop. Above here is my storage which has jumpers and bedding and pjs, which of course I'm too short to reach so I have to stand on my chair.

I hope you enjoyed my little room tour. If there are any sections you want me to talk more about, please leave a comment below. Overall I think my favourite part of my room is either the desk area because its nice to sit and study there and watch Netflix but I also absolutely love my bed, its so comfy!

Anyway, I hope you're having a great start to the weekend, you all deserve it...
