What I do whilst on a plane:

Image
Long flights or flights in general can get boring if you don't have anything to do. I often, however, take way too much stuff in my carry on bag that it becomes impossible to get bored on a flight. There are many things you can do to keep yourself entertained whilst on the plane. I find it so uncomfortable to nap on a plane, my neck feels awkward on the seat and even rested on the side of the plane if I'm in a window seat. So I rarely nap on a flight. So what do I do instead... READ: I love reading a good book, this is the main thing I do when I'm away on holiday. I always take two books and I always finish them both. I think this is such a handy tip. I know a lot of my friends are not into reading much but even if you pick up a couple of magazines before you head away, I think it's so worth it.  It's also nice to escape into another reality whilst being on the flight, if you're surrounded by annoying things, you can just get lost ...

Year one at uni is... done!

Image
Hey! I've not been on here for about a week and I think a well needed update post about my life at the minute is needed... So year one at university is finally over and of course I have absolutely loved it but it's been one hell of a long and busy year, both emotionally and academically.  I've had so many assignments, exams, essays, open exams, more assignments and even going out and learning skills I've never attempted before all in one year and let me tell you it's been tiring.  At the start of the uni year I found it hard to be away from home and away from my family, every now and then I'd stay away from home for a couple of weeks and after a while I realised that I'm not the type of person who can stay away from home, being able to go home on Friday and go back to uni on a Monday night was exactly what I needed.  I'm a very home kind of girl and being able to head home on the train and spend my time with my parents and get a hug fr...

Let's talk about... Anxiety

Image
I am an extremely emotional person…  I used to think of this as a negative thing, but when I think about it, actually being emotional is okay. I now acknowledge that if I’m feeling stressed, panicked, nervous, or down, I just need to give myself time to breathe and overcome the feeling.  On this blog post, I want to talk about one feeling in particular and my experience with it… Anxiety. Quite a lot of people feel it, like stress… and if you’re quite an anxious person like myself you will know that your mind can change any small situation into a massively big one…  People who know me know that I experience anxiety often and I want to explore more into the feeling itself, and how I find ways to conquer it. Recognise when you feel anxious... Now I know this sounds obvious because we all know when we're feeling anxious. But don't put off knowing why you're feeling this way, the best way to conquer them n...

Five places to go during Spring:

Image
Hey you beautiful bunch, I've missed writing frequently but I've had serious writers block and so many exams that I've needed to revise for! No excuse I know!! Anyway, todays post is all about getting out of the house in this glorious weather and exploring places when the sun is shining! 1: The Park: I love going to the park with the family or even friends and having a cute picnic, eating all the good foods and simply enjoying life. including feeding the ducks and getting an ice cream from the cafe, Fredrick's ice cream is the best!! It's a dream when the sun is out and I loveeeee visiting places like this. A little stroll, a chill on the picnic blanket and soaking up all the sun. My fave park at the minute is Avenham Park in Preston, such a pretty place! 2: The Garden: I know this sounds silly, but the best times are ones spent with your family in the garden. We make so many memories during spring and summer just by being in the garden, havi...

What's in my University bag:

Image
It's the 1st of January and I'm so excited to see what this year will bring me. I'll soon be going back to uni and I know quite a few others go back before I do. So this is a little post in collaboration with one of my uni besties... Kate, who has also written a blog post about her uni bag! (The link is at the end of this post), to inspire those of you who don't know what to put in your uni bags or even for those of you who would like to have a little nosey at what I take to uni daily... When I first moved to uni I had no idea what to take with me, all I knew was that uni is completely different to college and I felt so unprepared, so I decided to look on youtube, some how I felt like I needed immense preparation. So this what's in my uni bag is based on what I take on a Tuesday or Thursday due to them being my most busy days. First of all, I take a backpack to uni because I think its the most practical, I can fit everything in there including my l...

New Years Resolutions:

Image
Hey you lovely lot! Merry Christmas and a happy new year! I hope you all had the best day on the 25th and got every present you wished for, and even eating all the goods... especially pigs in blankets. I'm currently sat here writing this in my new teddy bedding and throw eating all the chocolate I can consume because I need to eat it before I start my diet on January first, we shall see how long that lasts. I thought I'd make this post all about my new years resolutions, I have a few but not that many. I think every year I never keep to them and really I should. So this time I'm going to try to keep to them. First of all, eat healthy and go to the gym more ... At the start of uni, I joined the gym and went at least twice a week and then came a week off where I went home and I never got back into it and I feel like I've gained so much weight. So in effect when I go back to uni I'm going to eat a lot more healthy and exercise again. It...

Stepping out of your comfort zone:

Image
Hi, Hi, I hope you are all doing well.  Recently I purchased an orange denim jacket and honestly it's such a big step out of my comfort zone but I absolutely love it. This post is all about how to combat that voice in the back of your head telling you to stick to the neutral colours and instead to just step out of your comfort zone, not just in the clothes department but also makeup and speaking confidently. Being your own person is a big thing for me because I have often not been the person who steps out of her comfort zone because I find it so hard. I often feel like people are looking at me and judging me or thinking I look weird in a certain outfit.  Well recently I have stepped out of my comfort zone and I feel like I should give you guys some advice on how to get out there and live your life to the fullest. I still lack confidence but in some ways my confidence has flourished since being at uni. So, first of all, the orange denim jacket... ...

My university experience so far...

Image
After being at university for almost two months, I've decided to write a little post on my experience so far. I love university, the studying style is so different and enjoyable, I've met some of the greatest people but also some of the not so greatest people, I've moved away from home and had a few struggles but I'm getting there and its so worth it. If you are thinking of going to uni, just give it a shot. I've always wanted to go to uni since I was young and knew I either wanted to study in teaching or something to do with writing. After doing Media Studies in high school and college I quickly fell in love with writing more and more and found a new love for wanting to become a journalist. So anyway, I'll stop telling you my life story haha, but this is my experience so far. I hope it helps you if you're deciding to go or even if you just want to see how I'm getting on. First of all, when I first joined uni I didn't think I woul...
