Taking life at your own speed limit...

Image
Hey everyone, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year! For my first post of 2021 I wanted to share a part of my life that I think people will also be experiencing at some point. Last week, I kind of hit a breaking point where I felt like I was behind, like I wasn't at the stage in life that I should be. I see people my age that are beyond successful on social media, buying their dream homes, having a deposit for a dream home, getting engaged or having children and I sit and think, why isn't that me? I genuinely sat and cried to my sister because I didn't know what would happen next in my life. Throughout my life I have always had stages to go through. I started off in primary school and then high school, I then had to work hard to get into college and then smash my A-levels to get into University and I think it just dawned on me that this is my last ever semester on my undergraduate course, so what happens next?  After a small breakdown, I had a deep chat about a...

Finding motivation during a pandemic...

Image
Hey all, I hope you're all keeping safe and healthy. I thought I'd do a little post about life during this pandemic. Keeping your mental health positive and having productivity is a whole lot harder during this time and it can often feel like we're all spiralling into an unproductive and sad time. But that's okay. Feeling unproductive, unmotivated and somewhat down is okay. You can't sit and have a good day everyday. We're in the middle of a pandemic and while we all want to carry on as normal it is extremely difficult when we can no longer leave our homes. I've sat here for the last week and on and off felt so unproductive, sad and down and somewhat feeling like I am not doing enough work. But again, it's okay because I know that really I have tonnes of work to do and as long as I do some each day and have some small successes all is good. When you think about it, you are being productive everyday even if it is the smallest of...

20 things I've learned in 20 years

Image
Hey! I've seen so many bloggers do this recently when they reach their 20th birthday and I thought seeing as I am now 20 (I'm old haha) I would give it a go! It feels odd being 20, I remember when I turned 12 and my mum would say love how young you feel now, enjoy every moment, don't rush wanting to be an adult. I wish I listened to her if I'm honest. When I was younger I always wanted to be older but I'm now finding myself wanting to be younger all over again... I mean I am still in love with High School Musical, pizza and Roald Dahl books so I guess I'm still a child at heart! I spent my birthday with everyone I love with the added few missing but these guys made the evening of my birthday the best yet ❤️ But as a 20 year old it finally means a whole new year and a whole new decade in my life and it's pretty exciting! I can't wait to see where I will be in ten years time and how I will reflect on my twenties. As if I will be thirty i...

Lonely Planet - My Picture Bucket list:

Image
If I had all the money in the world I would travel everywhere. But I don't so I guess a girl can dream haha. There are many places I wish I could go to. I have a bucket list that I so want to tick off. I have currently five ticked off already: America, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Amsterdam and Switzerland. In each place I've travelled around and really found the places I love. In America I have been to Florida, Orlando and I've been to New York. In Tenerife I have explored both the north and the south. I think I know Tenerife inside and out. Anyway, I always get side tracked, I have a huge passion for travel and like many of you know I aim to be a travel writer one day. So, as it's a passion of mine I started exploring the Lonely Planet more and I adore the site and all the materials they create. For this post, I've decided to explore their site and show you some pictures they have up on their socials and images that others have created too, just so we can all...

My Travel Playlist:

I love travelling and as many of you will know I’ve recently come back from my holiday to Tenerife and I’m gutted! It was such a wonderful holiday and I loved spending time with my family. For this blog post, I thought I would piece together my favourite songs at the minute that I loved whilst travelling on flight, whilst getting ready on holiday and the ones I loved whilst chilling around the pool. The playlist has way over 100 songs so I'm going to add a list for you to browse. So there is a mixture. I am obsessed with Lewis Capaldi at the minute, he is amazing! I can't get enough of his recent album, obsessed. I'm also loving all the old summer classics that will always get me in the mood like Summer by Calvin Harris, Whistle by Flo Rida and lastly, Despacito. Not only the old classics I'm loving the new ones like High Hopes and I Don't Care. These songs are great. All in all, I think this playlist is just a big pile of all the songs I like an...

What I do whilst on a plane:

Image
Long flights or flights in general can get boring if you don't have anything to do. I often, however, take way too much stuff in my carry on bag that it becomes impossible to get bored on a flight. There are many things you can do to keep yourself entertained whilst on the plane. I find it so uncomfortable to nap on a plane, my neck feels awkward on the seat and even rested on the side of the plane if I'm in a window seat. So I rarely nap on a flight. So what do I do instead... READ: I love reading a good book, this is the main thing I do when I'm away on holiday. I always take two books and I always finish them both. I think this is such a handy tip. I know a lot of my friends are not into reading much but even if you pick up a couple of magazines before you head away, I think it's so worth it.  It's also nice to escape into another reality whilst being on the flight, if you're surrounded by annoying things, you can just get lost ...

What's in my travel bag?

Image
It's almost time for me to jet set away to Tenerife with my family and I am so EXCITED! I love travelling, so much so I've already been looking for next summer! It's always been a goal of mine to travel write, being able to travel the world and write about it... yesss please. So anyway, I thought I would share with you all what I take in my hand luggage/carry-on bag for plane rides. I find going to the airport and being on the plane one of the most exciting parts about going away, I'm such a travel nerd! I often take a backpack with me as my travel bag because it's easy carry as it has two straps and its so convenient for space and fits underneath the seat in front of you. Sometimes I take a bag but it often hurts my shoulder so much due to the weight... I'm most probably taking too many books and magazines haha. These are quite small pockets at the side and I probably would put a bottle of water in the pocket but seeing as you cant take liquids thro...

Clothing Haul: Summer Edition:

Image
Hey everyone, how are you? I hope you're doing well. Today's post is a little clothing haul on all the items that have made their way into my wardrobe! I'm a sucker for a haul and more often than not I see these kind of things more so on Youtube than I do on a physical blog, so we shall see how this goes! The summer holidays are fast approaching and I'm so excited to put my feet up and relax... well apart from doing a fifteen day placement at The Bolton News and working throughout summer hahaha, you know what I mean... it's almost time to jet set away on my holidaysss yay!! This years fashion has been a solid 11/10, I have loved so many items that have been released and I can't help but dip into my purse and get the latest bits and bobs... So here are my recent buys. Sorry for the long intro hahah. First of all... Accessories: I'm a lover of accessories. They make any outfit look that little bit more extra. 1: Straw bag: ...
