Small business gift guide...

Image
Hey everyone! How are you all? I am so excited to be doing Blogmas this month, I thought I would try it out and share some posts with you every other day this December! So for the first blog of the month, I wanted to share my gift guide from all the small shops and businesses I have absolutely been loving recently. There are a range of goodies in here; stationary, homeware, jewellery and prints that I think would make the perfect gifts for your loved ones! I've tried to keep the prices affordable because I know that Covid has impacted a lot of us financially :) This is in no way affiliated and I haven't been asked by the brands to do this, I just thought these were wonderful places to shop this Christmas!  Anyway, enough of me chatting... here is my gift guide: 1: Sighh Studio Okay so up first is my all time favourite, Sighh Studio. Polly and her team are the dream team for all things stationary, home decor and accessories.  I've followed Polly on Instagram for a long tim...

Autumn favourites: Plans, Foods, Books and Films

Image
Hey everyone,  How are you all? Life has been busy the last couple of weeks but I have loved the change in weather and the new season. I am absolutely loving autumn this year and thought on today's post I would share all of my favourite things about the season! First up is... plans and adventures: Autumn walks have been one of my favourite hobbies during the season so far. I have loved the fresh air, the company and the scenery. The leaves are the prettiest colours and all crunchy. Trips to the garden centre are now easily one of my favourite things to do. Me and mum took a trip to our local garden centre last week and it was amazing. All the little plants, gifts, the food market. So lovely! Coffee shops. This is perfect for relaxing and reading my current read. Coffee shops are even better after looking in a bookshop and then going for a sit down and festive coffee with company; mum or friend. Food and Drink: PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE... that's all I have to say! This is my favourit...

A week in the life of a third year journalism student...

Image
Hey everyone,  How are you all?  I always get messages and questions about my studies and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share my every day life as a third year journalism student with you all. My weeks are not that hectic at the moment due to only just going back and Covid but they are about to get extremely busy. So I thought I'd share with you what my week has consisted of from September 28th to October 2nd. I hope you enjoy this little insight into my life and get a taste of being a student journalist if that's the career path you want to go down. So, here is my week in the life diary... Monday 28th September (work placement/newsdays) - all day Mondays are my work placement days this semester. So, these are the days in my diary where I schedule in work experience. I have a date booked in soon to work alongside journalists at LancsLive, which I'm so excited for!  In a couple of weeks I am also taking part in two news-days; planning...

My Journey with Body Confidence

Image
Hey everyone! How are you all? Life is a little weird for me at the moment. I started my third and final year at university this week and I just don't feel like I'm back... possibly because I'm living at home but it still feels odd. On todays post I wanted to talk about a huge aspect of my life that I don't share often with my readers.  Body Confidence. This is hard to talk about because for the last few months I've had little or no body confidence. To me that is perhaps because of Covid and the lockdown. Being stuck in the house for months didn't help me, I saw so many people on my social media going through glow ups; exercising, eating healthy and getting their ideal figure. For me though I went in the complete opposite direction.  Sometimes I can sit and eat just because the food is there, because I'm bored or because I am stressing. Literally throughout lockdown and summer all I thought was no one can see me. I'm chilling in the garden, lets eat rubb...

Goodbye to second year... hello to third year!

Image
Hi everyone! How have you all been? Long time no see, Covid 19 has been a nightmare to say the least and life dramatically changed during the second year of uni but never the less, here I am! Second year ended back in June which is pretty late considering originally I should have finished at the start of May but life changed and all my university classes and exams were put online. Fast forward to now and I am about to start the final year of my journalism degree... it's rather scary that this time next year I will either be in employment or starting another journey in my career. University for me ended up being really successful during the pandemic because I smashed my exams getting two A's and a B and also passing my 80 words a minute shorthand exam. Along with lots of encouragement from my parents, especially my mum who continually put messages on the whiteboard in the kitchen. She's amazing! However, if I could change the circumstances and not let Covid happen I would ta...

Finding motivation during a pandemic...

Image
Hey all, I hope you're all keeping safe and healthy. I thought I'd do a little post about life during this pandemic. Keeping your mental health positive and having productivity is a whole lot harder during this time and it can often feel like we're all spiralling into an unproductive and sad time. But that's okay. Feeling unproductive, unmotivated and somewhat down is okay. You can't sit and have a good day everyday. We're in the middle of a pandemic and while we all want to carry on as normal it is extremely difficult when we can no longer leave our homes. I've sat here for the last week and on and off felt so unproductive, sad and down and somewhat feeling like I am not doing enough work. But again, it's okay because I know that really I have tonnes of work to do and as long as I do some each day and have some small successes all is good. When you think about it, you are being productive everyday even if it is the smallest of...

Five books I've been loving during lockdown

Image
Hey everyone, I hope you're all well and somewhat coping during these uncertain times and also keeping safe at home. I just want to say a huge thanks to all of those frontline workers and key workers who are looking after all of us during this crap time! The whole nation thanks you! So emotional. I’m so proud of every single person on the front line, the NHS, the carers and the keyworkers ❤️ #clapforkeyworkers #ClapForCarers #ClapForTheNHS — C H L O E (@chloewils23) April 2, 2020 Of course, whilst being on lockdown I have had a lot of time on my hands. At first, I had so much time to relax in the garden in the sun but got the news that uni exams were still going ahead so I've literally spent all my time revising for politics but I've also had tonnes of time to READ! As many of you know, I love a good book and so far this year I have read 19 books - currently on my 20th book which is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (I am loving it). On this blog...
